Sample Script:
Hello, my name is __________, and I am a constituent of Senator/Representative ___________'s in _______________, California. I am calling to urge the senator/congressperson to pay attention to her/his constituents, and understand that Americans can't wait any longer for Congress to act on gun violence. It's time to close the loopholes in the background check system and Fix NICS, ban purchases and ownership of AR-15s and every other assault-style weapons, and develop a new regime of licensing, registration and insurance for all semi-automatic weapons and other handguns. This is the time -- not after the next shooting. We can't wait anymore! Thank you!

As students in the Conejo Valley participate in the National School Walkout today, it's clear the tide has turned on Americans' willingness to put up with Congressional inaction on gun violence. The leadership and inspiration provided by the students who survived last month's school shooting in Parkland, FL, has added urgency to the conversation about placing new restrictions on gun ownership -- the process required to obtain a gun, the types of weapons that should be legal for private ownership, etc. It is essential that we raise the temperature on legislators at the congressional and state levels, focusing their attention on these issues and building upon the momentum those students have created.
