Join parents, teachers, students and other Conejo Valley residents for this protest rally preceding the CVUSD board's meeting Tuesday evening! We'll gather on the sidewalk and in front of CVHS/board chambers.
Board extremists Mike Dunn and Sandee Everett are hellbent on reshaping our district's curriculum to conform to their narrow view of the world. The forces of fundamentalism will be out in droves -- and so must we!
Please join us even if you don't have time to sit through the board meeting, which begins at 6 (though all seats likely will be taken by 5 -- more reason to arrive early and protest!). Bring signs supporting our teachers' expertise and professionalism, and reiterating that Everett's proposal DOES, in fact, constitute censorship -- making it impossible for teachers to use books she finds offensive, and pitting teachers against far-right parents deep into the future.
One more thing: Please encourage your students to come and participate! The quality and credibility of our kids' education in the Conejo Valley, and our schools' reputation among college admission counselors, are on the line tomorrow evening. They won't want to miss out on this chance to defend their academic freedom!
