Swing District/2018 Action Team Meeting

Before the meeting, here are a few current "things-to do" ---

(1) We need a few folks to do some at-home research over the next few weeks. How "out there" is Antonio Sabato, Jr., Rep. Brownley's newly declared opponent? What types of public statements has he made in the past?  Are you willing to do a little Twitter and Facebook research? We also need a matrix of progressive positions that we can use to evaluate candidates, including Democrats in primaries and opposition Republicans. We'd like to use this for local as well as state and federal races. What do you think are the important issues we should be rating candidates on? Please respond to this email if you're interested in tackling either of these tasks.

(2) There will be a number of phone bank and canvassing/voter registration events before our next meeting (and after), so please continue to sign up. They are advertised on our Indivisible: Conejo website and Facebook page. If you haven't done one yet, don't let that stop you! We have other members who are happy to train you. Please respond to this email if you need phone bank training. Voter registration training is done on-site the day of the canvassing event.

Both of us (Mary Anne and Melissa) will be attending a Day of Action in Simi Valley on Saturday, June 10th, and we challenge other Swing District team members to join us:

Click on the event to begin the registration process. This is a great place to see all upcoming events organized for CA-25

(3) Finally, let's support our local Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley (DCCV). Some of you are already members, but many us aren't. It costs $25/year for an individual membership, and it's a direct way to have influence on local politics. Sign up here:

The best place to find information about the DCCV calendar is on their Facebook page. The next meeting is at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14th, at the North Ranch Center, 1400 N Westlake Blvd. The speaker will be Dr Paul Song, co-chair for the Campaign for A Healthy California, to discuss SB 562. For more information call 805-231-4152.

Finally, if you have something specific you want to discuss at the meeting, please let us know: Imaryanne@indivisibleconejo.org
