Even as we get ready for Indivisible: Conejo's CVUSD Challengers Forum, coming up this Sunday, we're helping facilitate area students' plans for participating in upcoming actions protesting America's epidemic of gun violence -- including school walkouts and the March For Our Lives on 3/24. We're also preparing for our first canvassing day in the Conejo Valley on 3/11 (in partnership with the DCCV) and our St. Patrick's Day trip to beautiful Bakersfield (to flip CA's 21st congressional district)!
The CVUSD school board's unanimous vote to censure trustee Mike Dunn, after he threatened the employer of a blogger who criticized him, shifted the debate heading into the 2018 campaign. Indivisible: Conejo helped lead the protests against Dunn, and on March 4 we'll host a forum for the candidates to replace him and his enabler John Andersen. There's also a calendar full of upcoming canvassing opportunities and community events!
Tensions boiled over this week surrounding the Conejo Valley USD school board -- and right-wing extremist Mike Dunn, in particular -- after he threatened a critic's employer. Next week's school board meeting will be a venue for protesting his unethical and dangerous behavior - and Indivisible: Conejo will be in the middle of those protests. Meanwhile, our Early Retirement Party for Rep. Steve Knight was a great success, and efforts to oust Rep. David Valadao in CA-21 got off to a fine start.
As we get ready for the Women's March & Ventura County Rising on Saturday 1/20, we're also excited about our Early Retirement Party for Rep. Steve Knight, coming up on the 27th -- and for the Postcard Parties that will help us send him off in style! There's also a civil-disobedience campaign afoot, as parents across the Conejo Valley reject the new CVUSD opt-in policy. Read all about it!
