Indivisible: Conejo is joining a statewide coalition to flip congressional district 21 -- home (for now) to far-right Republican David Valadao. This month we'll follow Saturday's canvassing and voter registration with a St. Patrick's Day visit to Murphy's Pub in Bakersfield!
The CVUSD school board's unanimous vote to censure trustee Mike Dunn, after he threatened the employer of a blogger who criticized him, shifted the debate heading into the 2018 campaign. Indivisible: Conejo helped lead the protests against Dunn, and on March 4 we'll host a forum for the candidates to replace him and his enabler John Andersen. There's also a calendar full of upcoming canvassing opportunities and community events!
Tensions boiled over this week surrounding the Conejo Valley USD school board -- and right-wing extremist Mike Dunn, in particular -- after he threatened a critic's employer. Next week's school board meeting will be a venue for protesting his unethical and dangerous behavior - and Indivisible: Conejo will be in the middle of those protests. Meanwhile, our Early Retirement Party for Rep. Steve Knight was a great success, and efforts to oust Rep. David Valadao in CA-21 got off to a fine start.
As we get ready for the Women's March & Ventura County Rising on Saturday 1/20, we're also excited about our Early Retirement Party for Rep. Steve Knight, coming up on the 27th -- and for the Postcard Parties that will help us send him off in style! There's also a civil-disobedience campaign afoot, as parents across the Conejo Valley reject the new CVUSD opt-in policy. Read all about it!
Indivisible: Conejo and SWAN have chartered buses ... and MORE buses ... for the January 20 Women's March L.A. We're going to have a strong contingent of Conejo Valley activists downtown! Check out this week's newsletter for details -- and for info on our Immigrants' Rights team's work to help oversee implementation of SB54, upcoming opportunities to flip GOP congressional districts, and more. And don't forget to Save The Date for our General Meeting on January 28!
Passage of the #TrumpTaxScam and repeal of Net Neutrality are bitter pills -- but Indivisible: Conejo is ready to use public outrage against Republicans in 2018. Until then, we look back on a wonderful holiday party ... and look ahead to our next General Meeting, the Women's March, and other events.
Indivisible: Conejo activists helped Get Out The Vote in the Alabama Senate race this week, participating in postcard parties and texting campaigns. We're getting excited about Sunday's Indivisible: Conejo Holiday Wine Tasting & Open House! We're also planning a Day of Action to stop gun violence this Thursday. Read all about it!
Indivisible: Conejo's battle against the #TrumpTaxScam continued in the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving, while election-related activities are gearing up, targeting races as far away as Alabama and as nearby as Rep. Steve Knight's district just northeast of us. In this week's newsletter you'll find a precis of our Swing District planning for 2018, and details of our HOLIDAY WINE TASTING & OPEN HOUSE on December 17!
Indivisible: Conejo has continued its fights against censorship in the Conejo Valley USD, and against the #TrumpTaxScam in CA and nationwide, throughout November with protest rallies and public advocacy. There are plenty of opportunities to help swing Rep. Steve Knight's district coming up, and SAVE THE DATE for our HOLIDAY BASH on Dec. 17!
This week Indivisible: Conejo's "365 DAYS TO VICTORY!" meeting offered strategy, tactics and motivation we'll need to flip Congress in 2018 -- work that continues this month! On Wednesday we'll be back in the streets, protesting Trump's Tax Scam; on Tuesday we'll back in the CVUSD board chambers, fighting another extremist censorship attempt. Our work is just getting started!
Indivisible: Conejo steams toward its all-important Nov. 4 general meeting, "365 DAYS TO VICTORY!", with Issue Action Team meetings and phone banks to flip the Virginia state legislature. Our Postcard Party, penning notes to voters in southeastern and southwestern VA, was a rousing success (as always). Check it all out!
